Matthew Carbray, CFP®, ChFC®
Matthew Carbray offers comprehensive financial planning advice to individuals, families, and small business owners. Partnering with clients to define their financial priorities, short-term goals, and long-term aspirations, Matthew designs comprehensive, customized, and flexible financial plans to help them achieve their desired financial futures.
Prior to founding Ridgeline Financial Partners, Matthew began his career as a financial planner with New England Financial in 2002 and co-founded Carbray Staunton Financial Planners, LLC, in 2006. Matthew earned a BS in financial services with a dual minor concentration in law and taxation from Bryant College in 2002 and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Chartered Financial Consultant® designations.
Matthew has earned numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. New England Financial selected Matthew as its Best New Agent in 2002, and in 2006 awarded him an Outstanding Achievement Award and the title of Advisor of the Year. Matthew also earned a seat at the Million Dollar Roundtable in 2005, an elite association of life insurance and financial services professionals. In addition, Matthew was named a Five Star Wealth Manager for overall customer satisfaction in 2010, 2012, and 2013* by Connecticut Magazine. Most recently, Matthew was selected by Hartford Business Journal for inclusion in the 40 Under Forty, an honor bestowed on outstanding business leaders in the community.
Outside of the professional sphere, Matthew stays actively involved in his community through a number of leadership and mentorship positions. He serves as a member of the board for several organizations, including the Hartford MS Society, the St. Thomas More School, and the Kevin Ollie/Tolland Fund, which raises money and awareness for athletes with disabilities. Matthew coached for the city of Hartford’s Saturday Hoopsters basketball program, founded Hartford High School’s High Hopes College Ladder program, and was a participant in Leadership Greater Hartford’s Quest program. He also has served as the secretary of the West End Civic Association and is the co-chairman of the Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade. In addition, Matthew is a past president of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Irish American Home in Glastonbury, CT. Lastly, Matthew volunteers as a youth counselor at The Holy Family Retreat Center and is a parishioner at St. Patrick’s/St. Anthony’s in Hartford, Connecticut.
Matthew married his wife, Shannon, on New Year’s Eve 2010, and they currently reside in Hartford’s historic West End.
Jeffrey Giantonio, CRPC®
Jeffrey Giantonio has over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry offering individuals, families, and small business owners robust solutions to their unique investment and financial planning needs. Focusing on comprehensive and holistic wealth management, Jeffrey’s consultative approach seeks to integrate all aspects of his clients’ financial lives into personalized, consolidated, and adaptable investment strategies.
Having witnessed the successes and failures of his own family business growing up, Jeffrey understands the unique challenges facing small business owners, as well as the wisdom of having a personal financial plan. Jeffrey’s experience working with both individual investors and business owners has taught him the importance of understanding the client’s needs while making sure trust and communication are the foundation of the client relationship.
In his prior career as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, Jeffrey was awarded the Rookie of the Year award for the Hartford region and consistently ranked in the top quintile of his peer group, earning membership in the Executive Club for three consecutive years. Most recently, Jeffrey was named a Five Star Wealth Manager for overall customer satisfaction in 2013 by Connecticut Magazine.* Having earned his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation in 2012, he is currently working toward his Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® certifications.
In the community, Jeffrey is a board member of the Hartford Arts Council and volunteer for the Connecticut Children's Hospital. He resides in Riverton, CT, with his wife, Annette, and their two children, Eliana and Logan.
John-Ryan Quick delivers a comprehensive and personal approach to helping his clients achieve efficiency and security in their financial affairs. As an independent financial planner, J.R. focuses on all aspects of his clients' lives in order to tailor individualized strategies to guide them through the growth, preservation, and distribution stages of wealth management pursuant to their life goals.
J.R. received his bachelor's degree in business administration from University of Hartford. Prior to joining Ridgeline Financial Partners, J.R. worked as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. He also has experience working with private companies in consulting and development roles, which has made him uniquely qualified to provide objective planning to small businesses and their owners alike.
J.R. lives in Bristol, Connecticut, where he remains an active member of the Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce. When not at work he enjoys golf and cycling.

John Staunton co-founded Carbray Staunton Financial Partners, LLC, an affiliate of Ridgeline Financial Partners, to provide comprehensive financial planning for his property and casualty insurance clients. Specializing in the field of commercial and personal insurance, John designs insurance programs to meet the sophisticated needs of his business and individual clients. Throughout a detail-oriented and comprehensive policy review, John develops cost-cutting strategies while maximizing insurance protection for his clientele.
After graduating from Northeastern University, John started his insurance career at The Hartford Insurance Group in 1995. Utilizing that experience in the corporate insurance industry, John joined Wentworth-DeAngelis Insurance as a manager in 2000. In 2011, John was honored by Connecticut Magazine as a top Home and Auto Insurance Professional.
John's involvement in the community includes roles as chair of the St. Thomas the Apostle School, co-chair of the West Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, board member of the Irish American Home House Committee, and board member of the Kevin Ollie/Tolland Fund. John also spends time as a youth coach for West Hartford Football and Simsbury Lacrosse.
John resides in Bloomfield with his wife, Molly, and their three children, Nora, John Jr., and Maeve.
Office Manager/Client Services Representative
Esmeralda Passanisi handles all firm-level and client operations for Ridgeline Financial Partners, managing everything from customer service to processing new business to maintaining client and compliance files. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial and insurance industries, Esmeralda brings a wealth of industry know-how to Ridgeline Financial Partners.
Prior to taking on her current operations responsibilities, Esmeralda worked for seven years in a similar role at Carbray Staunton Financial Partners. She has also worked for Phoenix Life Insurance, MetLife, and New England Financial. Her experience is invaluable to the success of Ridgeline Financial Partners.
Outside of the office, Esmeralda enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. She also likes working in her garden and reading a good book.
